As a lighting designer, my work is driven by collaboration, storytelling, and the transformative power of light. I see lighting as a partner in design — supporting, enhancing, and elevating the creative visions of directors, scenic designers, and other artists. My goal is not to impose, but to illuminate, shaping mood, guiding focus, and breathing life into the world we create together.
Light is more than illumination; it is emotion, rhythm, and atmosphere. It sculpts space, shifting between subtlety and spectacle to serve the story. Whether crafting dynamic contrasts or gentle transitions, I seek to find balance between art and function, ensuring that each moment resonates with clarity and purpose.
Collaboration is at the heart of my process. Every project is an opportunity to engage in deep creative dialogue, listening and responding to the needs of the production. I find great joy in the interplay of design elements and the shared goal of immersive storytelling.
I have been incredibly lucky to spend the last ten years working as a designer, assistant programmer and electrician across the worlds of theater, opera, broadcast television and nightlife. Synthesizing the aesthetics from this wide variety of experience across genres contributed immensely to my style as a designer.
